The Epistle Unto The Christians To Present An Argument for the use of the Authorized Version

By: A concerned Brother

The fabric of today, being what it is, means that Christians must be diligent concerning the things of God more, as the days go by. We are currently at war with these Powers of Darkness, who seek total domination as they have sought since The Lord ascended into Heaven. The Church today is in more dire straits than in her history spanning even the whole of the apostate persecution of the Gospel, and yet we, as the Church of God, fight and argue and contend with doctrines, and books, and denominations. We are broken and divided; while the lost are being used to destroy the West, and in so doing, destroy the peace the Church has had in the US. We need God; we need to remember God in all things, and remember what God has left for us to use: The Holy Ghost – God in us; The Word of God – God speaking to us; the assembled Church, our ultimate weapon and key to our relationship – Prayer.

The Focus of this Epistle is on the second of the three former things mentioned in our arsenal. The Scriptures have been with us for the better part of the last 2000 years in one form or another, though the complete revelation of God was not given until The Apostle John was exiled to the island of Patmos, near the closing of what we called the ‘time of the Apostles’ or something near to it. The Apostles time and time again had spoken of apostasy and false teachers (2 Peter 2:1; 1 Timothy 4:1); and not for nothing, because not too long after God called them home, the corruption of the Church began in earnest (1 Corinthians 11:19). In the waning years of the Roman Empire in the West, heresies and evil doctrines pervaded the Church left and right; right up until Constantine the First established the Church of Rome, whose whoredoms were vast and who had coveted the power gained by the corruption of the Romans. As the Emperors of old, the Papal power waxed to the point where he, instead of God was the final authority of the Church. Those who loved God and did His work were by and large martyred by the Catholic establishment, and the Scriptures (translated into Latin by suspect peoples), were locked behind houses of stone.

How is this an argument for the Authorized version? Men, who by the power of God and the direction of the Holy Ghost; who withstood the Roman Doctrines and defied the Pope; who died for the Gospel as they lived for Christ; believed so strongly that the layman should read the Scriptures, that they gathered the Word of God and preserved it in English. From the late 1370s to the late 1550s (roughly almost 200 years) God used their Faith, their prayers, and their talents to induce a change so drastic, that it had rippled across Europe and into America; lasting until today in 2021.

No other period of History was as changing as the Enlightenment. No other event so precious to the Modern Church as this, save the Cross and Resurrection of Christ. To open freely and read the words of God daily – nothing else compares. This is what is not mentioned in arguments about the word. Instead we have arguments that the English is too old, or that verses found in the Authorized Version were not found in ‘the original Greek text’. Those who prop up the Authorized Version merely mention that the Greek and Hebrew used to translate the Bible was found in Antioch and that the Greek text used by the first ‘modern’ translators (Brooke Foss Westcott and Fenton John Anthony Hort) were found in Alexandria, or more importantly, found in a wastebasket in St. Catherine’s Monastery (near Mt. Sinai) and the Vatican Library. How could the world at large forget the suffering of the Saints? How could we forget the evil of the Catholic Church? How indeed could we forget that the Church had nearly 300 years of uninterrupted use of the Authorized Version, without anyone of note indicating that another version was now necessary in English?

Why was it necessary to make all these ‘translations’ of the Bible in English, in the modern day? Why, of all the ‘translations’ that are out there, is the King James Bible so hated?

Consider that the Church, since Jesus Christ (Our Lord and Savior, amen) ascended into Heaven, has invariably suffered persecution from the Established powers of every era in 1600 years of our history up to and passing the formation of the United States of America, and that the goal, as has always been the case, was the suppression and destruction of the Gospel of Christ; and also that the Word of God has been attacked since Creation began all those years ago in the Garden; it is therefore easy to conclude that while the methodology of Satan has changed in the days of the Free World, that the attacks have not at all lessened, but have gotten worse.

Consider the Apostate Church, formed after God called home the Apostles and strengthened by the Satanic power of Rome, was able to sneak in and change the Truth of God into a lie; teaching Doctrines and traditions of men (Jude 4), to affect the lost to believe that religion (instead of the Blood of Jesus Christ), was able to forgive sin, and that works (and not Faith) was key to an eternity with God. Remember that, ‘For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)’ The Apostate can only survive on lies and deception, this is true, and it is only by God’s power that the truth comes out and is received with repentance.

We have forgotten the Promises of God; we have become weary in well doing (Galatians 6:19; 2 Thessalonians 3;13), and weak for our trust is in man. We have become fat and lazy (slothful), and the enemy has not stopped for a second.

Westcott and Hort were used of Satan to enter the Church; they led the charge to undo the completed Word of God in the 1880s. It was too easy, especially in the West, for our trust to fall to ‘learned men’. They used cleverly devised fables (2 Timothy 4:4; Titus 1:14), fabricating problems and solutions to deceive us, and give back the Word of God to pretensions such as copyrights, and word limits

The Established Government of the United States took the reins that we dropped to create the welfare state (to replace us) in the 1930s; using the crisis’ that so befalls the world, to give people hope when we should have trusted in God. Our trust in the US was our greatest mistake; for they replaced God with Civil rights the way they replaced the Church with the Welfare State. That’s where the 450 different translations of the bible make a lot more sense. Our Trust in man (the Government), our lazy workings during the Great depression (welfare state), and making the Word of God ineffective (443 translations) replaced the Persecution that forced our reliance on God, His promises, and His Word.

So for the Authorized Version: What argument can be used to ultimately define it as the Word of God? Well, I would be fully willing to place the Persecution of the Church in England (against the Gospel of Christ) and the 180 years of Saints martyred and almost martyred for the sake of the Bible in English and the 270 years of rule by the British Empire that allowed the free access of the Authorized Version; against the dilution of the Bible by man, the subverting of the Church by the US government, and the replacement of God by Science, in the 140 years it took for Satan to change from the power of Rome to the power of the free world.

The power which God gave unto His Word and the Faith and patience of His Saints allowed the Church to grow in the Providence of God for over 450 years; giving the Gospel with the Clarity only remembered to be seen in the days of the Apostles. The translations given by men such as John Wycliffe, William Tyndale, Myles Coverdale, John Rogers, the Saints of Geneva, and the Saints of the Reformed Church over the span of 200 years allowed the King of England to Order and Proclaim the Authorized Version; one set aside above all the machines and orders of the world; one that could never be touched or corrupted by man: the weapon of the Church, which God promised that the very gates of Hell could not prevail against. This is a Bible forged in blood, tempered with God’s Promises, and made Perfect by the Power of the Holy Ghost in the men who preached the Cross of Christ.

Can you find that prestige in the modern bibles of today? The ones which claim such blasphemies as Jesus falling from Heaven, and which turns the Blood of Christ and the wages of sin into ‘God is Love’? How many suffered for the NIV or the ESRB? How powerful is the impact of the Words found in those versions which differ wildly even from each other? How big is the Apostasy of the Church which has claimed separation from the Romish doctrines, in these modern times?

This is why the Authorized Version is so hated. The bastardized versions cannot compare at all to the divisive workings of the Word found in the KJV, and nothing but greed drove the men who made the lesser versions. The Authorized Version is so powerful that the only thing Satan could do was to flood the world with corrupted bibles.

The Church needs to remember God and the patience of the Saints, for we are at war. Sharpen your understanding of the Word, and by God’s Grace march to whatever race is set before you.

EPHESIANS 6:13-18

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
