A Prayer for Direction

Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Psalm 25:4-5

Often times our hearts are in distress because our eyes become blind to the will of God, our ears are shut to his call, our heart is filled with distractions, and everything around us has turned upside down. My spirit was troubled for what was to come next, and what would be the thing that I would do next, when I read this psalm a few years ago. To me, this psalm is a prayer for direction to walk through this life. It is needful for us to pray unto God and God alone in order to help us out of darkness. The confusion and the feeling of being lost should not be in us, for God is truth. I asked God to help me to walk this life on earth to please him, and that whatever he says I will do, and wherever he may send me I will go. I had to wait on God.

O Lord, you are my shield and my strength. You alone can give me the answer, and lead me in the way; you are my assurance. So, Lord hear my prayer and help me to yield to your call, and submit to your will. I will wait patiently until the day has come, so help me to trust and to obey you for there is no other way to go. Amen

Until I write to you again, I will share with you the wonderful work of God, for he has answered my prayer!

As the Father hath loved me, so has Jesus loved you: continue ye in his love,

Your fellow laborer in Christ
